Old World Meets New

Like many Chartwell kitchens, this one had great placement in the home with a view to the backyard and a centered spot in the home. The dated bulkhead and painted original cabinetry had served their time well, but were in need of replacing. With adjacent spaces, we were able to relocate the dining room to a larger space and expand the kitchen by taking out a wall. This client opted to keep true to their style and selected graphite cabinetry in a modern style door and treated honed marble for the countertops and backsplash. A simple 3” shelf over the range and pocket doors to house small appliances were extra personal details in this design. In this family-foward design, a peninsula for a busy family was a must, as well as a beverage center for entertaining. We love how modern elements like the beveled shaker doors and sleek appliances meet the old world charm of marble brushed brass.
