Japanese Inspired Kitchen

Our client had a taste for beautiful blue Japanese pottery that she collected during her years living in Japan and wanted it to be the inspiration for her kitchen.  She brought the pieces in to one of our first appointments so that we could truly capture the overall aesthetic she desired:  simplicity in color and beauty in imperfection. The home, located in Linstead in Severna Park, has clean modern lines in the millwork and architecture that pairs well with the client’s love for Japanese art.  With family in the neighborhood, they wanted a vibrant space to host their grandchildren.  For this, the design started by adding a peninsula for seating that continues into the dining room buffet and hutch. Cambria’s Portrush merges white, navy, and flecks of gold for a rich design that draws the eye through the room.  The client chose to take a thoughtful approach to the backsplash design-the blue herringbone pattern is perfected with gold flecked grout to match the countertop, giving the design depth and warmth.  What a beautiful outcome when the home matches the personality of its dweller.  We are so humbled that we could collaborate and transform the space into a true work of art.
