Coastal Country Kitchen

This Chartwell home was well loved-the homeowners raised their adult daughters here and as a designer who has stepped into many kitchens, I could instantly feel the love and memories in this space.  The clients were grounded, friendly, and real-and that’s what we did for this kitchen transformation. Grounded in rich granite countertops, matched with a friendly open concept, and finished with real wood accents, the kitchen feels coastal yet classic.  The intentional space for artwork on the feature wall hosts a family heirloom painting brought back from California.  There were some effective renovation solutions-we removed a window in the dining room and made it a door to the backyard, and padded the wall to help hide plumbing in the bulkhead so that we could add height to the ceiling.  Internal cabinet lighting makes the room glow and invites friends and family for cocktails and laughs.  The genuine character of this room is perfectly fitting for this family (and we’d be remiss to not mention that we connected on a Tennessee VOLS level that is undeniably cool).
